Pony Feature Show
Well here we go out in the rain and up bright and early (3.30am) off to Perth for this great show. We took Popstar and Pinup in the Welsh classes and PJ took Ocker in the Aussie pony classes, dressage and working hunter so they had a very busy day. Popstar was great again and got Champion Welsh A stallion and Pin-Up moved out beautifully and got Reserve Champion Welsh A mare. PJ and his ever reliable Ocker did extremely well getting awarded Supreme Champion Australian Pony, he was even more excited to be in his 1st S.O.S lineup and then was awarded top 5. The ridden was after lunch and PJ and Ocker again went super and got Reserve Champion Ridden pony and Reserve Champion Working Hunter, so we had another great day out.

21ST MAY 2010

Today my bestest friend Lisa and I went on a trek to Boddington to pick up my Mother’s Day pressie, a lovely Welsh A filly. Penny as she has been named had no idea what she was in for. Such a good girl only been handled for a week and just walked straight on up into the float for the long trip to her new home. Just when she thought she was home and safe, I get her out and put 2 sets of rugs on her and she never missed a beat. I think I like these Welshies ,just so laid back.

15TH MAY 2010

Murray ODE
Well this was pay back to PJ who gave me grief all week after Dardanup. Who would believe it we got exactly the same Dressage score, so were coming a draw, bring on Sunday. Show jumping 1st today and again Celeste and I dropped a rail, must to PJ’s delight as he was now beating me (not for long). So in goes PJ all confident, ha-ha, and 2 refusals not a very happy chap after that as mother is now beating him. X/C was a blast we went clear and this time no time penalties so very happy with how Celeste is learning. Poor PJ also went clear but had 1.4 time penalties (shame) which meant I came 5th out of 23 riders and he came 11th. So I finally beat him, bring on the next ode!!.

8TH APRIL 2010

Dardanup ODE
Here we go eventing, mother against son in D Grade. Celeste was having a girly day today and our dressage was just awful, PJ did another nice test on his ever reliable pony. Show jumping was great with PJ going clear and me well got to keen coming into the last jump and took a rail. X/C is definitely the best part and poor Celeste had her eyes popping out all over the palce but never missed a beat and clear with time penalties ( a bit slow by 18secs) and PJ ended up having 1 refusal so we had a great weekend, and yes he beat his mother and I will never hear the end of it.

24TH APRIL 2010

Dardanup Show jumping
Well this was the best day being my 1st competition riding since I broke my arm. Celeste and I did the 60cm and 70cm and at the last jump in both rounds had 1 rail down so unfortunately for me PJ beat me coming 3rd in the 60cm. I will never hear the end of it now.

17TH APRIL 2010

APSB show
This was the 1st time we have been to this show and will definitely be going again next year. We went up in the truck so we could do both days and have somewhere to sleep. San-Del Popstar worked out like I have never seen him before with the biggest trot which saw him being awarded Supreme Welsh A and won a beautiful garland. San-Del Pin-Up also worked well and got Champion Welsh A mare. Then it was PJ and Ockers turn and they came 2nd in the Australian Pony Gelding class on the Saturday, then on Sunday it was full on with their handler class and then all the ridden events. They placed in every class and finished off a great weekend with Champion Childs Ridden Pony. The auction at Saturdays night’s dinner proved hilarious with PJ entertaining everyone by bidding on everything, thank goodness we ran out of money or we would have brought the lot.

4TH APRIL 2010

Pinjarra Gala Hack Day
PJ and Ocker today had the best day ever. He got 2nd in his rider class and then got 3 1st’s and 3 2nd’s in his hack classes. As the day progressed they started to work together very nicely and were awarded Champion Large Pony. They then went up for Supreme Champion and won a beautiful garland and an embroidered rug. PJ was so excited and even had tears in his eyes and gave Ocker a huge hug when they called him forward to accept his award.

Murray ODE
I still haven’t been able to ride with my broken arm so my great friend Lizzy Kouw has had Celeste for me since October and has been doing a magnificent job with her getting her to jump 1mt in such a short time. Here they did their 1st C grade x/c course with absolute ease. I was totally amazed at how well this pony can jump, such a shame she is coming back home to me to start back riding next week as we won’t quite be jumping that high to start with.

Manjimup Ag Show
Toby decided to go to this show with Popstar, Pinup and Ace as we were eventing at Busselton and coped very well without us. Popstar got Champion Welsh sec A or B Stallion, Pinup champion Welsh A or B Mare and she then went on to win Supreme Welsh A or B and Top 3 supreme of supreme, which is a real feat for her. He and Ace were awarded 3 Champions and he was so well behaved considering it was his 1st outing since the dramas at the Royal show last year.

Pinjarra hack day
PJ and Ocker had a great time at this show. PJ won his rider class and then went on to win Champion rider 16 and under, then they also won all their hack classes and was awarded Reserve Champion pony hack. In the jumping they got 2nd in the 45cm and 3rd in the 60cm.

Well poor Pinup isn’t getting the rest she thought and has now started racing in the pony trots. She looks amazing in the cart and has the most beautiful movement, shame she hasn’t got the speed to go with it and has been coming last in her races but PJ is having a ball so that’s all that matters.

WAPA All Breeds Show
It was great to see more of the Welsh ponies starting to come out at the shows now. Again Popstar got Champion Stallion and it was Pin-Ups day out again. Pin-Up got Champion mare and Supreme Welsh A for the 2nd show in a row she also got Top 5 SOS again, look out Popstar here she comes. The ponies will now all go for a well earned rest until the New Year.

ORANGE GROVE BREED SHOW
It seems the time has finally come for Pin-Up to knock off Popstar and well deserved too I say. Popstar got Champion Welsh A Stallion and Pin-Up got Champion Welsh A mare and then she got Supreme Champion (always said she would beat him 1 day). Then to finish off Pin-Up got Top 5 SOS, so we were really excited.

Popstar started his stud duties today and was such a well behaved lad. He served our Welsh A mare Wendamar Sharn, so can’t wait to see the foal next year.

Dardanup ODE
With me still not allowed to ride until February next year I made the decision to lend Celeste to a friend of mine to event. Doing her 1st D grade course she coped quiet easily and could go higher no problems, she did a nice dressage test, clear in the show jumping and x/country and ended up coming 3rd, not bad considering its only her 3rd ever ode. Well PJ and Ocker had a very different weekend that ended with a huge learning curve for Pj. They got a great score in the dressage, clear in the show jumping and then being an adrenaline junkie got extremely carried away and went 90secs too fast which dropped him from 1st to 7th. Hopefully a hard lesson learned.


2nd November 2009

ALL WELSH SHOW
Held at the showgrounds this is always a great show and very well run. With judges from South Africa Popstar did the best he has ever done at an All Welsh show and was awarded Champion Section A Stallion, he worked out beautifully and showed off his huge trot. Pin-Up also did well coming 2nd in the mare over 4 years class. Popstar won a trophy that came up to his shoulder it was huge.

19TH OCTOBER 2009

Well our only foal for this season has finally decided to finally make his arrival and is a real stunner with lots of legs, being by the Welsh stallion Worranora Trademark out of my Thoroughbred mare so should mature around 13hh and make a lovely large pony hack already showing off that show ring flair.

2ND OCTOBER 2009

PERTH ROYAL SHOW
Well I must say this was the most exciting Royal we have ever had. Popstar and Pinup both got 3rd in their classes and then for grand parade where I got kicked by someone else’s horse braking my arm in 2 places with the bone coming thru the skin and put me in hospital for 3 days. Ace was still to be shown after grand parade and the team survived without me and he got 2nd, so all in all it was a good show.

UNFORTUNATELY there have been some nasty rumors regarding Ace come out of the Royal Show after me being kicked which have led to quite a few people not bringing their mares to him, which is a shame considering he did nothing wrong. A bit disappointing that people could not ask me 1st instead of listening to slanderous comments from people in the horse world or the person who’s horse actually did kick me. Hopefully next season will be better for poor Ace who by the way is the quietest stallion I have ever handled and his progeny speak for this also.

20TH SEPTEMBER 2009

BUNBURY CHAMPIONSHIP DAY
Well we decided to brave the shocking weather and trek out to do some hacking and dressage. PJ and Ocker had a great day he got 2nd in his rider class then won his 3 hack classes and got reserve champion large pony. Celeste had a bee in her bonnet all day our dressage test was ok we came 1st in her lightweight class, 3rd in our height class and I got reserve champion rider, so not a bad day really

SWSHA BREED SHOW
After the weather all week we nearly didn’t go to this show but it was a beautiful day with sun finally. Pj and Beelo-Bi Ocker won Champion ridden gelding and then went on to win overall ridden Champion so he had a great day and they both worked so nicely together.

DARDANUP SHOWJUMPING DAY
Well today was a great day PJ and Ocker went clear in the 40,50 and 60cm and Celeste and myself also went clear in the 40,50 and 60cm and came 5th in the 50cm, both ponies went really good and could probably go high next time.

23RD AUGUST 2009

PINTO ALL BREEDS 2009
WE MUST BE MAD 2 SHOWS IN PERTH IN 2 DAYS WE WERE VERY TIRED AFTER THIS. POPSTAR WAS AWARDED SUPREME OPEN PONY 14.2 AND UNDER, THE JUDGE LOVED HIM. PINUP GOT CHAMPION WELSH A MARE AND POPSTAR RESERVE CHAMPION WELSH A STALLION. THEY WERE 2 VERY TIRED PONIES AND PARENTS.

BALDIVIS BREED SHOW
WELL IT’S BEEN 10 YEARS SINCE WE WENT TO A SHOW HERE AND THE GROUNDS WERE MUCH BETTER THAN I REMEMBERED LAST TIME. WE TOOK PINUP AND POPSTAR WITH PINUP CHAMPION WELSH A MARE AND POPSTAR CHAMPION STALLION AND SUPREME WELSH A. SO ANOTHER GOOD DAY.

15TH AUGUST 2009

BUSSELTON ONE DAY EVENT
THIS WAS SO OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE AS I HAD NOT EVENTED FOR 23YRS AND TOOK MY EVER RELIABLE CELESTE WHO HAD ONLY LEARNT TO JUMP 4 WEEKS PRIOR. AS I HAD BEEN TAKING PJ AROUND FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS EVENTING THOUGHT IT WAS TIME FOR ME TO COME OUT OF RETIREMENT. PJ DID A SUPER DRESSAGE TEST AND WENT CLEAR SHOWJUMPING TO BE COMING 1ST BUT UNFORTUNATELY HAD A FALL AT THE LAST JUMP CROSS COUNTRY. POOR CELESTE HAD NO IDEA WHAT SHE WAS IN FOR AND DID A NICE DRESSAGE TEST AND A CLEAR ROUND SHOW JUMPING TO BE RUNNING 3RD OVERALL. SHE THOUGHT SHE WAS DONE FOR THE DAY WHEN I SADDLED UP AGAIN FOR THE CROSS COUNTRY, POOR GIRL SHE WAS SO TIRED BUT LIKE A TROOPER AND WITH HER EYES ON THE BIGGEST SPRINGS WE WENT CLEAR CROSS COUNTRY ASWELL TO FINISH 6TH. I WAS RAPT, LOOK OUT HERE WE COME.

9TH AUGUST 2009

GOSNELLS WINTER BREED SHOW
WELL POPSTAR HAD TO HAVE A BAD DAY SOONER OR LATER HE JUST WANTED TO PLAY AND LIVE IN THE CLOUDS BUT HE STILL MANAGED TO GET SUPREME WELSH A BUT IN THE SOS HE DECIDED THAT HE DIDN’T KNOW HOW TO TROT ANYMORE BUT THAT’S BABIES FOR YOU. WE EVEN TOOK PJ”S EVENTER IN THE AUSTRALIAN PONY CLASS AND HE GOT 2ND BEST PRESENTED AND 3RD IN HIS GELDING CLASS POOR BUGGER DIDN’T KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON THERE WAS NO JUMPS!

19TH JULY 2009

YOUNGSTOCK AND FOAL SHOW
SO LOVE CARTING THESE WELSHIES AROUND WITH NO PLAITING OR CLIPPING. THE 2 LEGENDS WERE AGAIN SO WELL BEHAVED AND PINUP GOT RESERVE CHAMPION 3YO TO POPSTARS CHAMPION 3 YO, POPSTAR THEN GOT SUPREME WELSH A AND TOP 5 SOS.

5TH JULY 2009

BUSSELTON HACK DAY
TODAY WAS A DIFFERENT DAY FOR US TAKING PJ’S PONY BEELO BI OCKER. THEY WORKED BEAUTIFULLY ALL DAY AND ENDED UP BEING AWARDED RESERVE CHAMPION LARGE PONY. NOT BAD FOR AN EVENTER.

WINTERAMA BREED SHOW
OUR LITTLE TROOPERS TRAVELLED TO MUCHEA FOR THIS SHOW I THINK THEY THOUGHT WE WERE MAD LEAVING AT 3.30AM BUT WE HAD A SUPER DAY WITH SAN-DEL PINUP GOING CHAMP WELSH A MARE, SAN-DEL POPSTAR CHAMP WELSH A STALLION THEN HE WON SUPREME WELSH A AND GRAND CHAMPION WELSH EXHIBIT OUT OF THE SECTION A,B,C AND D SO WE WERE SO EXCITED.

7TH JUNE 2009

DARLING RANGE BREED SHOW WAS A SUPER DAY FOR US WITH SAN-DEL PINUP WINNING CHAMPION WELSH A MARE AND SAN-DEL POPSTAR OUT DOING HIMSELF AGAIN WINNING SUPREME WELSH A AND THEN GOING ONTO WIN SUPREME OF SUPREME’S. AGAIN HE WAS SO WELL BEHAVED AND JUST LOVE HIS SHOW PRESENCE AND MANNERS.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ACE’S PROGENY JUST STARTING OUT UNDER SADDLE WITH BRAYSIDE SPECIAL VISION WINNING CHAMPION NEWCOMER SMALL PONY HUNTER. HOPE TO SEE MORE OF ACE’S BABIES OUT AND ABOUT IN THE SHOW RING.

APRIL 26th 2009

Harvey Agricultural Show Results:

San-Del Popstar (Elmo) had another great day being judged Champion Welsh A Stallion and then going on to be Supreme Welsh Exhibit out of the Sec A and B and also Top 5 in the Supreme of Supreme line up which was great.

We also took San-Del Pin-Up and she won Champion Welsh A mare and behaved like trooper with the judge commenting on her big movement.

APRIL 15th 2009

Well PJ is extremely happy we have just brought him a new pony, and guess what its a gelding so I cant take it away from him at breeding season. He's a 13.2 eventer so off we will go, lucky we have the truck to sleep in.

We have also just finished revamping our truck and it has come up a treat. Been a long project in the making but it has definately been worth the wait.Happy eventing

ELMO COMPETED AT THE SPPHWA YOUNGSTOCK SHOW AND WAS AWARDED BEST 2YO AND SUPREME OF SUPREME.

OCTOBER 2008

PJ AND EMMA COMPETED IN THEIR 1ST ROYAL SHOW AND BOTH COPED EXTREMELY WELL. THEY CAME 5TH IN THE BOYS PONY.

NOVEMBER 2008

WELL WE PURCHASED OUR NEXT STALLION, SHANAMEER ACE OF HEARTS AND HE IS JUST A DREAM. PALOMINO RIDING PONY NOW BEING RIDDEN BY PJ (11YEARS) WE CANT WAIT FOR HIS 1ST FOALS TO ARRIVE FOR US IN 2010.
